D2C – Global Supply Chain

PCH

Role

This was a product I created for PCH during my time at Ceros as Senior Visual Designer. I was the only designer for this product and beyond user experience – I focused on motion design and data visualization.

Scope

My team was prompted to create an interactive experience that allowed users to learn the difference and benefits of transitioning to D2C from B2B. I led, designed, maintained PCH for the duration of their pilot with Ceros.

Background

PCH is a leading provider of global supply chain solutions. One of these solutions is offering D2C instead of the traditional B2B. My team was prompted to create an interactive experience that allowed users to learn the difference and benefits of transitioning to D2C from B2B. From sourcing isometric imagery to conceptualizing the users' journey, I worked with PCH to build an experience that translated a complex solution into an immersive journey.

The Approach

PCH had an analytical approach so I had to filter through metrics and possible user journeys expressed numerically which isn’t the most visually appealing material but explained D2C in a necessarily technical way. This allowed me to play around with the imagery and user journey to illustrate the fatigue of B2B while also highlighting the benefits of D2C.

This product was meant to engage and convert users. PCH had the metric and numbers to back this goal but lacked overall data visualization.

Motion Design

I did some research into a major competitors and explored the use of isometric imagery for information design. This led me to focus on motion and interaction design. I sourced, colorized and arranged all isometric imagery for this landing page and created a UI kit for future projects.

Results

We wanted to add some vibrancy to an analytical topic. The information provided lacked a certain humanity and empathy but through isometric imagery and more relatable copy, we were able to establish a clear choice for users.

We succeed in making D2C more visually appealing without compromising the data and deprioritizing B2B without undermining the process. The information is still accurate and prominent for each but one visual feels easier than the other. Which was the only ask of PCH.

Universal UI and Pilot Signed

Ocean Spray signed on to Ceros based on this pilot and is still utilizing elements of my UI on their site.
